I installed an AFE Stage 2 intake (the sealed version) on my 5.7 Tundra and have a question. I am hearing a faint whistling sound under partial throttle and was wondering if you guys hear the same sound? It is not present at idle nor under heavy throttle. All connections are good and tight and the hose fitting that was partially/fully blocked in some early versions is fine too. It's not a big deal as the radio pretty much drowns it out, but I would feel better knowing that I didn't do something wrong while installing it. Thanks in advance.

Yeah, I think it's just th sound of the air being sucked in... You should ok. If all else is sealed up and there are no clogged lines, you good.. :)

This is completely normal with an aftermarket intake. On the stock intake this noise is present but muffled by the baffles in the stock intake system. It's the sound of the air passing through the throttle body when it is only slightly open. This cause a whistle affect. Hope this helps.

Yea i got the same intake as you, thats totally normal. Just higher airflow thats all. I kinda like the sound though. I love to turn off the radio and just romp on it. It sounds pretty sweet.

Mine does the same thing also. I also noticed it on my x-runner when I had a TRD CAI too.

I installed mine today as well, man is she sweet. I didn't like the fender to tube fitment, so I did a little engineering. I simply took the old fender tube off the box and cut the end off of it...leaving an edge that the AFE tube can slide onto. It fits snug and stabilizes the box better. I don't know if I'm the first to do it this way but it looks stock and probably performs better as well. Thought, I would share for all those concerned about the tube fitment on the AFE intake.
