quick transmission question

Does shifting between D and N and D again harm the transmission while moving on a 2002 Camry, 4sp Auto.

I think as long as the engine is running, it should be OK.

i tried it at low speed, 5-10mph. no grinding noises, no jerking, smooth transition.
