just wired a new stereo into my 02 tundra got everything up and running and bolted back in. Then I started it to go to the store and the HU went dead with no sign of returning. Any ideas on what I screwed up?
well idk what the 02 has and idk how likely this is but i was thinking about it when i did my HU the front speakers with the tweeters (if you took out the amp) will have a lower resistance then HU might handle.....But idk the resistance of the tweeters and mine is still working fine so it might be the type of HU but if anyone knows the tweeter resistance I would like to know since i don't have to take my door apart just to check IF it's on the back or not...
If it just went straight up dead (no lights etc), I'd check fuses first. Then pull it back out and retrace your steps. Connections to harness etc. It's probably something simple. You just have to get in there and find it.
i would also check to see if you lost ground to the hu as well. most head units have two power lines. one constant to save radio stations, and one key on, for the obvious. make sure there is power on both wires with the key on and check the ground. if yo have all that and it still doesnt even light up i'd say she's smoked.
