Remote Control Programming

Found an extra remote on ebay for only $20. The seller sent me the programming instructions, which I expected to require a few steps, but this seems like it is much more complicated than it needs to be. Has anyone found a PDF with the programming information? I checked and couldn't find it on the web.

2003 - 2007 TUNDRA Remote Control Programming

* Please note a maximum of 4 remotes can be programmed at once. This procedure can be used when adding or replacing transmitters or when your system malfunctions.
  1. Sit in the driver seat with the key in the ignition and the driver door closed.
  2. Open the driver door and remove the key from the ignition switch.
  3. Within 5 seconds place the key into the ignition switch and remove it 2 times.
  4. Within 40 seconds:
    1. Close and reopen the driver door 2 times.
    2. Place the key into the ignition switch and remove it.
    3. Close and reopen the driver door 2 times.
  5. Insert the key into the ignition switch and close the driver door.
  6. Turn the ignition key to on and then back to off:
    1. 1 time to program a remote while retaining the original codes
    2. 2 times to program a remote while erasing the original codes
    3. 4 times to access setting mode
    4. 5 times to erase all registered codes
    5. 6 times to synchronize remotes
  7. Remove the key from the ignition.
  8. Note: remote functions can be changed while in setting mode.
  9. Within 2 seconds the system should lock and unlock the vehicle once, twice, four, five, or six times depending which mode was selected in step 6.
  10. Press the lock and unlock buttons on the remote together for 1.5 seconds.
  11. Within 40 seconds push the lock button on the remote.
  12. The system should lock and unlock the vehicle one time to confirm or two times to indicate that registration has failed.
  13. Within 40 seconds you can repeat steps 10-12 to program additional remotes.
  14. Open the driver door to exit programming mode.

What is the FCC number on back of the remote and is it only a keyless entry or security system? I bought one on Ebay for $20.00 but I made sure it matched the FCC number on the remote that I already had (ELVAT1B which is a keyless entry only). If not, it won't work with the receiver in the truck.
I made sure all the numbers on the back matched my remote before purchasing. I have the DC Limited package so it is a full security system. Haven't received the new remote yet but will try this procedure after it arrives.
Need help! I have received my new keyless remote. It is brand new and same FCC ID as the original factory remote: GQ43VT20T

I was given the instructions above and I tried them a dozen times but they do not work. I also found the same instructions on the web in two other places so they are not copied wrong. There were some other variations of this procedure in the KB section of this forum, but those were for older models or different style remotes. I tried those procedures anyway but no luck.

So I need to know the correct procedure for programming a new remote control on the 2007 Tundra DC Limited with factory security system.
there is a specific "dance" you need to do to make the remotes work, ill get it from work tommorow and send it to ya... it usually takes me 3 times or so to get it right.
Thanks for posting this.

It basically contains the same procedure which I outlined above. I tried it at least a dozen times today, some slow and some fast, and I even timed each step with a stopwatch to make sure I was doing it right. It just doesn't work. No reaction from the vehicle at all.

I suspect that they must have changed the procedure on the 2007 Tundra, or possibly my vehicle is different because it is a Limited which has the security system instead of the basic keyless entry.

This is one of those things that really irks me about the truck (and most new vehicles of any kind). When you pay $30K or more for a vehicle then you should have full control of it including all programming options. Cryptic procedures, missing documentation, and trips to the dealer are a pain in the a__. I sure hope someone can solve this riddle.
I did some digging, and found an alternate procedure here:

2006 Toyota Tundra Double Cab - Free Keyless Remote Fob Entry programming instructions, procedures for all automotive vehicles

it is found at ProgamYourRemote.com, if for some reason, the link changes.

which worked for my 2006 Tundra. I also did some playing, and if you modify the ignition on/off sequence like the one listed above, the other options are available, ie erasing original codes. The "door" procedure did not work for me, but the "lock button" procedure did.

I hope this is of some help to you all.

Also, does anyone know what the setting mode options/procedure are?
Registration for the 06 and 07 are not the same.
I hope by now Wilee got his figured out!

Lol. I hope so after nearly two years later!:rofl::rofl::rofl:
