Remote Key-less Entry Problem

Have an '03 Tundra V-8 Ext Cab with rear access doors. When I got it from the party it had a different key for the driver side door, which told me some one had try to jimmy the door lock. It is equipped with the keyless entry but I can't get it to work. Since the Driver side door lock was replaced, my question is whether it takes a different door lock for the key less entry system? All works from the inside with the electric door lock but can't get either of the replacement transmitters to reprogram or work. Anyone with a clue on this?
