Toyota, my dealer, and everything else i've read concerning the warranty extension on the o2 sensors state that there is also a mileage limit...........the warranty is extended only till 90,000 miles!! That left my 2001 out!! Sorry, Don't know how to duplicate the error code. Good luck!!

 

You are right, 7 years or 90K miles! I am sure there are some engine tech kind of guys out there that can figure this one out.

 

Find a faulty O2 sensor and swap it out.

Otherwise, not sure if there is a way to persuade the ECU with an untrue trouble code.

 

Had that same code show up this morn,and took to dealer (P0155),they said it was covered, and changed both sensors and replaced 1 manifold because they evidently couldn't get it out .:tu:Vehicle is 5 yrs old ,but only 35k miles.

The begining of the post states that there is a warranty extension of 7 years or 90,000 miles. If you fall within the mileage you should be able to get it taken care of at the dealer.

Make sure it is covered before you ok anything.

 

its not...the dealership here in florida are being a bunch of dicks!!...i would rather do it myself than pay them 400 to replace it..being as the service manager refused to acknowledge there is TSB on the tundra...i don't want to go through the headache of arguing with them... so can some one please tell me where the ( bank 1, sensor 1 ) is?

It is located on the driver's side exhaust manifold.

 

Check engine light appeared two days ago on my 2000 Tundra with 24,000 miles. Local dealer scanned it, said bad O2 on one side, replaced both front sensors with a "kit" that contained the two upgraded front sensors. I spoke to the mechanic and asked about stripping out the exhaust manifold while trying to remove the sensors. He says about 50% require new manifolds. Both of mine were easily removed while I waited, and I was out the door in less than one hour. My receipt for $0.00 referenced the TSB number.

I asked about lower ball joints and was told by a mechanic, not a service ticket writer, that he had seen no 2000s with ball joint problems like on later models. He said that some 2006 models had to be pulled from the lot and have ball joints replaced before they could be sold. I'm going to keep a close eye on them, and when/if necessary, change them myself with a ball joint that has a grease zerk.
