ok heres the deal... I just drove a 2005 tacoma 4cyl 2x4, and it revs at about 2300-2400 rpm at 120 kph, my new 2007 tacoma V6 4x4 revs at about 2600 rpm maybe a bit higher at 120 kph. both manual trans, the 4 cyl is a 5spd, mine is a 6 spd. I would have thought the V6 would have lower rpms than a 4 cyl, at the same speed and 1 more gear. is this normal?

4X2 (5-bolt) models have lighter frame/axles, lower stance, lighter cab selection (A and B) and smaller tires (sans X-Runner) to afford lower rpm.

5-speed auto models will turn less than 6-speed manual.
