So I've fallen in love with a new vehicle. It happens to be a 2011 Mustang GT 6-speed. I love my truck but the return of the 5.0 has made me 90% certain I'm going to go through with it. :D

ok.... Thanks for the heads up.

Seriously though the only time I bought a car I hated it until I was in a truck again. But thats just me. It is a smart move for Ford to bring back the 5.0.

I'd hate to give up the truck, but I DID tell my wife today that once her Pilot is paid off (next year hopefully) we're buying a new Mustang 5.0L  But, she says I can't knock her up any more, since it's only a 4-seater...:tu:

It's a nice car - have fun & post pic if/when u get it

same situation here the crewmax suited us for the 3 kiddies and SO, but I had to have front bench for that just in case later in life moment to seat 6 :) so this truck better last me to 200k miles...at least. If my little honda 93 accord can do this tundra better do it.

My truck will be paid off in the next year. I have my sight set on a new 5.0L mustang in the not too distant future.

Love the new Mustang. I seen a review over the weekend and they got a 4.7 sec 0-60 out of it!! They need to put that motor in their truck!! Could you imagine if they used the same engine design and made a 5.7 liter with it? That would be a 500hp beast. Good job Ford for getting back in the game. If it wasn't for such a weak engine in the F-150 I probably would've bought one when I was truck shopping. I just couldn't get over the power of the Tundra. I was always a Ford truck guy prior to my Tundra.

Hey Tuscon... The 4.7 ZERO-TO-60 was for the previous 4.6L GT's --- the new 5.0L is doing 4.3 seconds (according to MotorTrend).

I am not talking anymore but just waiting for the 5.0 to be put in the F150 to see how it performs. Then give it 3 years to prove itself.
I never had a concern with my previous F 150 in 200,000 miles is all I can say on a TUNDRA forum.

5.0 is a really good displacement for a mid to lightweight vehicle. Don't think you'd get the wow factor in a heavy f150.
I had lots of the old 302's in mustangs and torinos and they were great, put it into a pickup or an ltd and it dogged.
Anybody ever compare a 4.6 in a mustang versus a crown vic cop car?

LOL - I have! And, you're right...weight plays a big factor. Although, I had the 302 with a 4-speed stick in my '86 Bronco 4x4, and it was a fantastic engine...more than enough for that truck.

5.0 in the Mustang will be sweet.

5.0 in the F-150 will be a dog. Heck, the 6.2 is a dog in the Raptor and it gets piss poor mileage.

5.7 is still a better motor than Ford's offerings in pickups, but the Mustang is sweet.
