hi, although i own a 05 tundra.
i just heard on the new's channel 7 that the corrolla, has some sort of steering issue.
i would seriously check into this.

the 2 most important things is your steering & brakes.

please check with your dealership.

many people buy these cars for there daughter's & wife's.
or men that drive a long way to work.

i just thought i would try to inform TS members .
good luck, please please stay safe.

p.s. i have seen in the last few years 2007 & up there has been alot odd issue's with toyota's. they used to stand for the best vehicle out there. i have my doubts now.
way to many issu'es with many of there vehicles, and not just 1 issue but many.
i'm not saying it's still a good vehicle but, i belive they have cheaped, cut corner's, etc.
sad to see such a dependable , car start to go down.
sale's are dropping,all over.
but for TOYOTA to put people lives i danger is crazy.
just my .02 cent's. & only from 1 member. i'm sure there are many that feel different. i was going to toyota to buy a corrola for my daughter, not now. she will have a honda civic. 1 of if not the safest small cars out there, & very dependable, again in my opinion.

It is truly alarming that they did not issue recalls on these issues.

I bought a 2007 Corolla in 12/06. That was the year that they had switched from a 5 year to a 3 year warranty. The lights went on but I bought anyway, though I negotiated an extended agreement. I am generally happy with the vehicle, but I don't drive much, and I do have a problem I am trying to get resolved (will post in another thread). I think the lesser warranty was a definite indication that Toyota's own faith in their vehicles was slipping, so I am not surprised the level of quality is not what it used to be.

Just for everyone's info, I also experienced extremely long hold times (about an hour each - first time was disconnected) trying to get through the Toyota Customer Experience line. Simonsays, be prepared if you need to contact them.

hi, more info, i just heard on the ch7 news that the federal goverment is getting involved. if this is true. than, there are many more voices than you might expect have spoken up. it has something to do with the power steering locking up while driving. holly sh%t! i would honestly freak out. no steering.

i'm glad that our goverment is getting involved.
there are over 2000 accident's with this claim.
so i can honestly say there is a issue.

i have seen this while people are drifting car's not made to drift. but no corrola is drifting.
please be careful, drive safe. leave room, & tell anyone driving if they feel a stiffness in the steering . stop the car & call toyota to pick it up. it's better than crashing, or worse.

like i said toyota used to stand for being 1 of if not the best vehicle on the road, now, it makes me wonder. i'm glad i have 2 of there best years. 2 -2005's. tundra & rav4!
