my family are all farmers and id say take it as a compliment. Im getting from his quote to mean, you farmers are bada$$es and do whatever the hell you want..without giving a crap what others think.

Im getting from his quote to mean, you farmers are bada$$es and do whatever the hell you want..without giving a crap what others think.I was at a local performance parts shop today, they had ordered the wrong tailgate lip cover, so the owner walked out to check it against my tailgate.
He looked at FRANKENCAP and said "I like what you've done with your truck"
Shakes his head and say "Oh you farmers!"
Then added "You've taken a beautiful truck and made it look like crap"
I've been in this shop several times, I've spoken to this guy for hours picking his brain and he's a great guy.
I'm not sure whether I should be offended or not.
The cap is temporary, it does its job of protecting my tools and materials, and I've actually grown to like having a cap. So the fact that it looks like an abortion doesn't really bother me...IT WORKS.
As for being called a farmer, I'm just not sure how I should react, cuz truth is when I was a kid we had a farm, my father was brought up on a farm, my cousins are farmers. So, I suppose I'm genetically predisposed or something.
When I go back I'm going to be wearing my overalls and rubber boots!
Should I get Dave Peters on the case or what?
A lot of the farmers I know are pretty ingenius, they usually get a vehicle and break out the torches to make it serve their purpose, so I suppose you have a point.my family are all farmers and id say take it as a compliment. I think it depends on the context. If he is one of those people to thinks farmers are a bunch of dumb country bumpkins and jumps to conclusions about individuals, then I'd say "Yeah", you should be offended.I'm not sure whether I should be offended or not.
Its funny how things can grow on you, I know Frankencap is an abomination on such a good looking truck, but it has started to grow on my. The guys I work with had a giggle at first, but now they think the white cap on the black truck looks good, and since many of them have put their own gear in the back they appreciate it.Why be offended?
If they don't like it whose problem is it exactly?
I think it looks better than I thought it would from the beforehand conversations and if it gets the job done?
People have been asking me stupid questions about why my cap is not the "Right" color for the truck.
It is really growing on me, It works well and was inexpensive. I think the color even looks nice.
Look in my album,I can't find the pic I loaded from.
I agree that cap does grow on ya after awhile...Its funny how things can grow on you, I know Frankencap is an abomination on such a good looking truck, but it has started to grow on my. One guy with a tonneau has decided he wants a cap now, his truck is a splash with the narrow box, and he wants a cap that isn't wide behind the cab then narrows. That way it will look more like an SUV.
And why, because of Frankencap.
I saw a truck today with something similar, even more hidious, it was a longbox Ford with a shortbox cap. He had the cap up against the cab, and two feet of open space at the back.I agree that cap does grow on ya after awhile...
