Hey i was just wondering if there was anybody out there with the TRD skid plate having a fitment issue? The plate just doesn't seem to tuck up against the body like it should, or at least compared to some tacomas i've seen, I also may just be to nit-picky? Anyways the instructions call for a maximum gap of 20mm from bumper to plate and I'm at about25mm+. I've tried everything from repositioning it and bending it up while installed with no luck (strong stuff). I also installed mine myself and the ones i've seen with smaller gaps were factory installed.

Try longer bolt in the rear with some spacers. You don't want the skid plate to touch your bumper! It will rub off your paint!!

I'm at about 10 mm and there are some paint rubs without offroading.

10mm?! thats pretty close, did you install it yourself or the dealer/factory. My gap is just too much for me I'd like to be around 10-15mm also, probably closer to 15 cause i don't want any rubbing. If you did it yourself did it just come out like that or did you have to adjust it a lot to get it so close?

i put mine on myself and this is how mine looks. I pushed and pulled a tad to get it even from left to right, but thats about it.
hopefully this picture shows the gap good enough.
