So I have a slow filling. And p0451 code. I have always suspected that it was due to getting the wrong angle when I put a flatbed on it. But I figured I'd tear into the filler neck to be sure. Here are some observations so far.
1. The filler hose appears to have some type of plastic/epoxy liner in it. Mine is deteriorating and looks to be separating from the hose.
2. There is a butterfly type valve in the tank. It would be very difficult to overfill this tank to the point of spoiling the evap canister. The hose that comes from the canister to the filler neck is just vented to atmosphere. There is no connection from the filler neck to the canister.
3. All my vent tubes are open and clear. And the butterfly valve moves easily. I did move the filler neck bracket to a better angle. Going to run to town and get fuel and see if I accomplished anything.

Shoot a pm to hewitt-tech and see if he has some suggestions on where to look when it comes to that code.
