I recently got my catalytic converters stolen on my 05 Toyota Tundra. It happened at my work, in broad daylight, and it only took a couple of minutes. Luckily the cameras got pretty clear pictures of the car and license plate. I dont really know where to go from here. I dont really want to replace with OE, out of fear it will happen again. Is there any other solutions? I would greatly appreciate any knowledge! Thanks!

Do you live in the big homeless camp we call Eugene, OR as well!? That’s where my cats were stolen from my truck parked at work. Just filed a police report and nothing ever came of it, the cops around here have there hands tied.. I went full custom race exhaust from Dirty Deeds, nothing was cheap and I’m still throwing codes. Asked for some help from this forum with no reply so far... If you want to go the cheap route, go to the junkyard and snag some off a low mile Tundra around the same year..

Ha ha! no, but Tulsa is probably fairly similar. I dont expect anything of the police report i made either. I guess a couple of years ago, some lady got her doors stolen off of her mustang in the same parking lot at my work! I just didnt want to use anything less then toyota quality parts. I guess i will if i have to tho. I would at least want Toyota O2 sensors....i can live with some other Cats. Will the stock sensors bolt onto that setup??
Insurance is not being easy to deal with so i guess i will just take it to a shop and let them deal with it. Idk....

Try RockAuto.com

These are the same Cats that the insurance is trying to quote me. Which wont meet my deductable! I thought since it was Factory Parts that got stolen, the insurance would quote Factory Parts. Ive had nothing but bad experiences with rock auto parts. especially electronics!

Going off topic, but I won't deal with RA anymore after they sent me the wrong lower radiator hose for my 96 Acura and refused to pay for the return shipping. They claimed the hose matched their records. The top one is what they sent. The bottom one came from Acura.

I had my 03 passenger side converter stolen last night in Tucson, AZ. Ironically, my Tundra was at the shop getting its first timing belt change at 162K miles when it was stolen. They left the drivers side...

Sorry to hear you boys had bad experiences with RockAuto. I have had nothing but great success with them and they are my go to parts store. Only one time a LED bulb burned out in less than a year and I contacted them and they paid for the return of it and sent me a new one. Other than that I have ordered brake pads, rotors, calipers, links, tailgate damper, spark plugs, belts, cabin and air filters, etc.......always a good experience and fast shipping. They even let me return a passenger side front speed sensor I didn't need because the driver's side corrected the problem.

They stole mine to. But got spooked while trying to get the one on my wife’s car and left there tool behind. They use a wrench that has a chain on it and small blades between the links. Completely silent and easy looks like a giant pipe cutter. Stupid tweakers and we end up in the red because they have more rights than we do even though we are paying the salaries of this email who make those rules.
