I am 6' 3" and would like to know if I would be able to stand under tailgate without hitting my head.

Hard to believe nobody has stood under their Tailgate or Lift gate or whatever they call it.

Newer would have been better, I didn't believe it would have been hard for someone to reach above their head to give me a rough idea, guess that's asking too much. I could go to a dealer but thought asking here would be little easier, wrong again.
