Just a quick thanks to all the members who have given info here. I just today changed the disc pads and fluid in my 2005 DC. I have never done this before and would not have tried had the "how to do" info not been provided here. I am a builder and stop and go is what I do all day every day. Truck has 34,000 miles and I could feel the need, though there was no sound telling me to get it done. It took about 2 1/2 hours, from start to end. Bleeding the brakes with a $ 6.00 one man kit from AZ was simple and easy. The 1st brake took about 40 min., the second about 15 min. once I was comfortable in what I was doing. I used Raybestos QS ceramic pads, no noise and stops like a new truck.

Total cost:

Ceramic brake pads, with shims etc. $58.00
One man brake bleeder $ 6.00
One bottle brake grease $ 2.89
two qts. dot 3 premium fluid $ 8.95
one can red cal. paint $ 5.95
SATISFACTION PRICELESS
