Hello. I've been trying to figure out why my truck has been idling low and constantly dying. After a lot of "research" I decided to clean my throttle body. I opted to completely remove the throttle body. The procedure in the Haynes manual is better than in the factory manual and was actually quite simple. I was blown away how dirty this thing was! I spent at least 2 hours cleaning the throttle body and I only used throttle body cleaner. I only used a clean shop towel and an occasional Q-Tip. I hope this fixes my problem.

You also might want to use Seafoam and clean the intake. Find the vacuum line to the brake booster and add Seafoam into it. It's the easiest way to do it. It'll make a lot of smoke for a few minutes, but it won't harm the engine. If you follow what this guys does, it'll be no problem. I did it to mine a few weeks ago.
My TB was very dirty. The pictures don't show it well. Plus, the gasket was brittle. I gander that this was the first time it had been removed and/or cleaned. And, the two nuts and two bolts were definitely overtorqued! All in all the cleaning was easy except for the cold weather.
It solved my low idle and stalling problem! Next, I had to diagnose and fix my MAF.
