Im planning on having a local off road shop, trust worthy, install a 2.5" Pro comp Top mount spacer on my 04 DC 2WD. they quoted $540 out the door, including alignment. Just wanted to see if there was anyone with experience with this setup that can give me some Pros vs Cons....

Main reason for the consideration now is i am about 4 - 6 months out on new tires, i want to upgrade to a larger tire and some black TRD wheels, so wanting to do this part now in preparation.

178K and I do 0% off roading/towing btw.

Lift was installed. Ended up being taller in the front so had a 1.5" spacer added to the rear. Also using SPC UCA so the ride is great!

If anyone is considering this setup, i highly recommend it. If considering installing your self, from my experience, have a shop put the struts together, no rental tool will be able to safely get it done.

Looks good and fits your wanted look fine w/o towing anything. However, if someone is familuar with turning a wrench they don't need a shop to put the struts and springs together as you suggest. Complete novices that think they can, do.

Yea. Exactly. Complete novices. Thanks for the post, but feel free to fuck off. Luckily I wasn’t such a tool like yourself and recognized I didn’t have the said wrenches to turn to get this put together in my possession. So I sought out shop that did. Like I said in my previous post, my recommendation, not the word of god, was if in the situation I was in, without those said wrenches your speaking of, to get a shop to do it.
Have a good one.
