So it's about 92 degrees out today and I was out running some errands at lunch and I noticed that my scangauge tranny temp reading was around 170 give or take a few degrees. Should I be concerned with this? I wasn't towing and didn't have a load or anything either so I'm curious if something might be wrong. Typically when it's a little cooler out like in the 70's my tranny temp usually runs around 125 or so. Also, if it matters, my intake air temp reading was about 98 degrees.

Any thoughts...

Thanks guys!

Everything I've read says that ATF is formulated and designed to work its best at 175F, so I think you're just fine at 170F.

I wouldn't worry. When running errands was it mainly stop and go traffic?
That is generally when mine is highest.
