Will a TRD supercharger with the piggy back computer form a 2002 4.7 ltr V8 tundra interchange to an 2004 tundra without a problem, are they compatable. How is the drivability and fuel milage(if your not standing on it all the time)and is it designed to run headers and high flow exhaust,I mean other than HP is there any issues leaving the factory exhuast on,just looking for some general info form anyone with a supercharged v8 tundra or supercharger experiance it would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

The short answer is no. The supercharger will bolt on to your '04 no
problem but there are a host of issues with the piggyback ECU and fuel
enrichment devices that make this unit incompatible with your engine.

If you can score a compatible ECU and the 10th injectors needed
for the '04 install you could probably make it work.

If you are successful, you will certainly enjoy the benefits of an extra
100 hp and 100 ft/lbs of torque (conservative estimate). You can
leave the stock exhaust on but TRD recommends headers and free
flow exhaust to really wake up the power - I have both and it really
makes a difference. The only thing you don't want to do is install a
cold air intake, it is not compatible with this system.

Hope this helps.

Try contacting TRD Toyota Racing Development and ask if they sell an
ECU and harness as well as the 10th injector and neccessary support
documents for the '04 supercharger. While you have them on the phone,
I would also ask if there is any other components needed to make your
swap work.

Good Luck on the TRD communication. I got stiffed from TRD and ended up using a Unichip to piggyback the ECU. Works great.....this is the better option.

i second that, unichip is prolly the way to go. my opinion, TRD "discontinued" the SC for the 04 models because they couldnt get the TRD piggy to work right. it was esier to drop the line with the new VVTi motor just around the corner.

it seems that anyone and everyone here with an SC'd 03-04 v8 has had best results using unichips piggy instead of TRDs piggy.

I thought they stopped production of the s/c because it kept making cams fail. Hmmmm.
