We just bought a 2010 Venza for my wife and one feature she really wanted that we couldn't get (we made a deal on a specific car since the dealer wanted rid of it) was a trunk release button.

The vehicle does not have one, but since upgrading my truck has been so easy, thought that it might be just as easy to add this button to the Venza. Anyone have any information about adding this?

Venzas do not have a trunk, they have a hatch. Power hatch is available in most packages. If you do not have a power hatch, the locking mechanism is incorporated with the power door locks. Therefore, if you were to unlock your doors, the hatch will be unlocked as well.

What exactly are you looking for? ....the hatch to pop open from inside or power lift?

The external switch seems simple enough as it provides the same result s the older style of latch release.

If ya have to manuallly lift the gate anyways, is unlocking it at the lift handle with the same motion unacceptable?

Otherwise the power liftgate will provide han-free operation and adding that on your own will likely be very expensive..... actual install is likley to be a challenge..... It's a certainty that the cables and connectors are already there ss part onf the wiring harness. There is a parts supplier on line that has the parts.......toyotapartszone
