Tundra Limited Double Cab Long Bed

First post. I have had 4 Fords (3 F150s and 1 F250 diesel) and a Chevy Silverado since 1994. Test drove an '07 Tundra and was VERY impressed. Until I tried to order a Double Cab Limited Long bed. Not making them and I can't understand why one can't even be ordered. I actually use my truck as a truck, but it is also my daily driver. I have had long and short beds and wouldn't consider not having a long bed after owning both, since I can't close the tailgate with my ATV loaded on a short bed. I also need the extra dry, lockable storage of the extended cab layout. I wanted all the goodies, including heated leather seats, satellite nav, etc. I'm hoping they reconsider for '08. I was ready to trade in my 2006 Silverado at a loss. Please, Toyota, at least build them on order...

You can get heated leather seats on a SR5 from an aftermarket shop. My dealer quoted me $1900 for heated leather seats. As for the nav, I understand if you have the JBL package(EJ), you can get the nav head unit (ordered from parts shop or there is OEMvalue.com that has them, I have no FHE with them, so I don't know how good they are), that is plug and play with the jbl system. The only other things you will have to do without on the SR5 is you won't have the optitron gauges(blue gauges instead of orange), and I believe the steering is just tilt not tilt/telescoping. I am sure there are a few other things missing on SR5 that is on the Limited. But can't remember them off the top of my head. Goodluck.
i had the same predicament as you did...

but ended up with the limited short bed...dealer told me ...maybe next year...

there is no such thing 8352 (model of the beast your looking for)..they will only come in sortbed...even if the invoices say lb....

6 dealership and driving 4 manangers insane..

at least if you get the sr5 ...2nd rate stereo youll get the underseat organiser....

and the 20 inch rims...not the crapp 18' for the trd package..and it will be cheaper..

take care

Thanks for the replies. Can't do without a long bed. And don't want to have to take a brand new truck to someone else to put in the seats. If they don't offer a long bed with the limited by '08, I may end up with another brand. Makes no sense to not be able to order something that they already make, since I would be willing to wait. I wrote (a real snail mail letter) to Toyota USA, but I'm not holding my breathe for even an reply, let alone results.
Go for a Titan!

Im counting the days my lease is over so I can get a Titan Crew Cab with a Long Bed.:tu:
Well, it is a thought, but I didn't know that the Titan came in an extended cab long bed. 247 inches will fit in my garage with 3 inches to spare; longer won't. I need at least a 7 foot bed to close the gate with my ATV on and I travel with it a good deal of the time. I will not own another short bed for this reason. I do know I ended up unhappy with my '03 diesel F250 and am pretty unimpressed with my '06 Silverado (but I was able to get the top trim level with a long bed). I was truly blown away with the quality and ride of the Tundra I test drove and would love to order one in the configuration I deem best for me. Hope it happens. I can't imagine why they won't produce a vehicle at the higher end of the profit scale to satisfy customer desires???

Nissan doesn't offer an 8 foot bed.

While your pestering toyota, mention they should make the crewmax with the 6.5 ft bed..........
its a shame toyota dicates what we get, and does not give us what we want. but i gues they dont have to, still getting a crewmax with 5.5ft bed.
damn toyota.
I have driven an 05 & 06 silverado & F150. Not impressed w/either. My sister-in-law works for a Chevy dealer so I could get one for a song. I waited for the 07 Tundra to see if it would take care of my towing needs. it exceeds what I need to tow & offers an 8' bed. I get what I need to haul & I get what I need for reliabilaty (92 Camry, bought used in 02 w/ 92k, now w/171k- no problems & 95 T100 w/ 105k & no problems- soon to sell for 07 Tundra). I could get what I need from the domestics w/ an 8' bed but I could not get the reliability that I could from the Japanese (also had 85 Accord w/ 285k b4 donating to charirty). Sure I could get a great price on a Chevy, but what would I give up in resale value down the road. (ie 95 T100 bought new for 20k-- high KBB today $8500). Toyota has offered many configurations w/ the 07 Tundra. It surpasses anything the the domestics or Nissan can offer in the 1/2 ton version truck market w/ PROVEN RELIABILATY!!!
The Double Cab WILL fit a ATV in back. Its 6'5".The Crewmax wont fit a ATV.
Large ATV's, dirtbikes, and standup jetskis are 7'++ long. They will not fit in a 6.5' bed without leaving the tailgate down. 1 bike or 1 jetski can go in diagonally and the tailgate will close, but an ATV will not. Believe me, I have been doing this for years.

I too was dissapointed with Toyota not offering the Limited DC in a long bed, but I settled for now in hopes they will add it in the future. I guess they just can't completely please absolutely everyone.

On order, Slate DC, 5.7, Limited, 4x4, Nav, TRD loaded!!! Can't Wait:D
First, my ATV will not fit in a short bed with the tail gate up - I had one. Second, Nissan IS coming out with an extended cab 8 foot bed AND a crew max 7 foot bed for '08, supposedly sometime in '07. Depending on overall length, the Crewmax/7foot bed may be perfect for me. EVERYBODY interested should bug Toyota about their attitude of "buy what we offer or go away". I'm not sure why you can't order something they already make (the underpinnings must be identical between the SR5 and Limited, yes?). I wrote my letter but now I'll be looking at the Nissan. Pretty much done with Ford, Chevy and Dodge. Still hope Toyota comes to their senses within my time frame (anytime from now until May '08, right around when my warranty is up on the Chevy based on 36K). It's too bad I'm afraid to own the Chevy beyond the warranty, but I am. Slightly off topic, but does anyone else think they should come with a locking fuel door?
