I've got one!!
Love it!
step sides are ugly and not practical. I hated them when they first came out and still hate them to this day, almost as bad as a homemade camper shell....lol
Not true Bud...I can reach anything in my toolbox from the side of the truck thanks to that stepside. I'd call that practical.
I have one and love the look. (Pics in gallery.) Since I don't need a huge bed to work out of, function took a back seat to style. For the once in every five years I need a bigger bed, I have a trailer.
silver sky stepper checkin in. :tu:
2004 salsa red. Rare in these parts. People always have positive comments.
Don't mind the design, but they fu*ked up the taillights. Those things wrap around almost to the cab!! WTF?
IMO....fugly. When I bought mine the sales guys tried to sell me the one they had on the lot and it took me a while to stop laughing.

Its just personal choice, but ever since they came out, I just haven't found it appealing. Plus, it always takes up precious bed space.
I like the looks of the stepside, but I hate the tail lights.
I don't like the tail lights either but I do like the looks (kinda sporty) although I would not pay extra for it

Me too, had mine for about 4 and half years now. Still love it.
O5' Stepside Limited model. Only item I've added is a Retrax bed cover. It has an OEM drop in liner and I placed one of those rubber woven pads that you place under rugs on wood floors under the bed liner to preserve the bed. I use a thing called "Bed Bugs" to keep items from sliding around.
I bought this truck because I liked the stepside look. I've had a number of strangers come up and offer compliments about the truck. robt
I now have an '06 DC because I need the extra interior room for my family. But I had an '03 Stepside and loved it! As mentioned it is NOT hard to work out of and bed space is slightly less than standard 6.5 bed. I think the stepsides are really good looking trucks. I got FAR more compliments on my stepside than my DC. Still have a few pics in my gallery.

2003 Stepside TRD SPORT

The parts manager at my dealer said "hang on to that one....it's a very rare truck"
Do they make stepsides in anything other than Access Cab? I've only seen AC versions...

I see regular cab stepside F150's all the time, I think they look better than the extended cabs do.
Phantom Grey s-side here. Best looking itereation of the tundra, but I've always loved the step-side style. Toyota did great job of avoiding the typical problem with step-sides -- when viewed from directly behind, the bed is too narrow for the wideth of the cab. Seems that somehow Toyota has designed the step-site to keep the same-width bed but with the flared-fender look that makes the s-sides so sexy. (I know the tailgate and bed width are not quite the same as the regular cab, buy they are damn close).
Its all about the curves!
