I went to a Toyota dealership in my area just yesterday to see if they had the CMs in yet. When I went the first time in February, they said to check back in early March. So I went in early March and they said that the CMs should be in stock near the end of the month. So, again, I went yesterday and now they're saying that it is likely that they won't be in until the beginning of May! He did show me the Slate with Red Rock interior (exactly as I wanted) in a double-cab with all the goodies I wanted, but I told him that I wasn't interested in it because I need the back-seat room. He explained the bed was shorter on the CM and I told him that even though I liked the standard bed the best, that sacrificing some bed space for the interior is a must for me.
In any case, I gotta think that Toyota may have gotten their numbers wrong on what to produce. They said 15% standard cab, 60% double cab, and 25% crewmax. I think it should be more like 10% standard cab, 50% double cab, 40% crewmax. Maybe even have the dc and cm numbers reversed. Virtually everyone I know that is interested in it is waiting for the cm.
On a positive note, the limited interior is very nice and the Nav system is much more advanced than in most vehicles. I like Acura's new nav systems better (I think they're the best in the business), but this is pretty good considering what is available in other trucks.
Anyhow, I'm pretty sure that crewmax trucks won't last long on the lots when they finally do arrive...
