I bought a cheap pair of Pilot LED's tonight at Pep Boys and they suck... not bright at all.... they're actually dimmer than the stock bulbs. I'm going to go with VLEDS but they have about 3,000 different versions of the same bulbs.
Please list which bulbs you used where and if you're happy with the brightness.... TIA!
Depends on the color you want to go. I personally like the 4300-5000k scale, the higher you go the more purple/blue is introduced. Keep all the LEDs in the same range and you'll have a uniform look. V-leds.com is great to work with, either contact them on this site (they are members) or through their website and they'll help walk you through the process.
I guess what I'm asking is they have one's with two high power LED's... four regular.... six angled.... all in the same color temp.... all the same bulb type... I just don't wanna spend the cash and be disapointed. I'd like some real world input from owners...
Those little cheap ones are like the very first LED bulbs. They do not put out much light and do not fill the lens very well. For the tail light all you see from behind the truck is a red dot.
I'm pretty happy with the license plate bulbs in my map lights; bright enough for me and they're cheaper than the dome's. I also got these for the license plate.
I'd recomend the 4- LED HP bulbs for the dome locations. You need to have a down firing bulb in the domes on a DC, and i recomend going brighter back there. I've been thru it on 3 tundra's with V-LEDS, and they recomend sticking with the same bulb in all locations. High power is what was recomended to me, and i'm pretty satsified with them all.
YOu do need the flank bulbs in the doors, and the 4-LED HP is a great choice and is what i have. You need the down firing 37 bulbs for the glove box and driver entry, and buy the HP that is most expensive which was $8 a pair.
Like i was told though; DO NOT mix types of bulbs like HP, 16 LED, or other. Stick with the same; and in order to get the brightest light, HP is the best way to go.
If you can afford it, the 921 HP cargo lights are a nice upgrade but they're about $25 a bulb for the good ones.
Go to the bottom up the V-Led home page under the "need help" and click on the Vehicle Specific Apps. He has a list of all the bulbs he uses on his Tundra. He even the pics of bulbs installed on his Tundra! This really should help you a lot!
I've got some VLEDs in mine... bought the HIDs for the headlights and foglights (headlights are awesomely bright and I get flashed every other car or so even though my lights are properly adjusted), I'm on my second pair of taillights though, the first (both) overheated and melted the light holder - however VLEDs wouldn't send out replacements until I sent back those ones (even though I sent photos), this meant having to buy replacement bulbs - so I purchased new ones and Jake very nicely sent me a free backup led light for the licence plate - that WAS awesome until all the chrome is peeling off the surround AND the tail lights some of the LEDs have already burnt out. No doubt I'll have to send them all back at my expense again to get them replaced. It would have been cheaper now for me to have gotten replacement LED taillights rather than the bulbs!

Correct. If you're going to go HP, go ALL HP; of which i recomend.
Another note when finding out what v-leds put in his truck; he has a crewmax and the DC does not use the same dome bulbs. You need down firing bulbs for the DC, and i think the CM uses a flank style bulb if i remember right.
$19.99 Again these are the best bulbs we sell for the 07-Up Tundra, we have many other bulbs that are a fraction of the price but going with these will give you the best results. __________________
