Warrenty vs. Non-warrenty

I am about to buy my 1st Tacoma - It's an 05 (certified with 3 month warrenty) with the window "ballon squeak" noise at 65-75 mph that has been documented on other threads on this site.

In these threads it has been documented that owners were able to get the noise fixed under warrenty. However the dealer, that I am buying that Tac from, has said that Toyota said the will not fix it under warrenty.

I don't quite understand the process. Isn't there alraedy a list that Toyota maintains of what is/is not covered under warrenty?

Is there a way I should bypass the dealer and go directly to Toyota?

In general, what is the best way to get a dealer / Toyota do what they should... fix a known problem that should not exist in a Tacoma under warrenty?

it is way out of factory warranty, think 3 years 36k miles . there is a difference between a recall and warranty service. if you want the truck that bad, ask for a lower price and get it fixed

Sorry - I should have said that as it has been "certified" - the dealer is saying that it has a bumper to bumper warrenty for 3 months.

The dealer is also saying that Toyota will not fix this under warrenty. To me it seems like they have made this fix under warrenty in the past, so they should be willing to do so now.

But I need to "convince" someone quickly so I am looking for any suggestions in doing this. Do I contact Toyota directly? Is there a "list" of fixes that should be- or have been done in the past under warrenty? etc?
