Noticed my water pump had red crusty antifreeze all around it and figured it was leaking. I monitored the radiator fluid for months and never had to add a drop until the other day. I noticed a small puddle on the garage floor of the red stuff. I added very little to topi it off. It has not leaked since, I read where there was a tsb on the water pump where it would occasionally leak to clear the seal of dirt. This goes against all my mechanical logic, if it weeps its bad. Anyone have thoughts? Im at 150,000 miles on a 2008 5.7

To each his own but if it were me I would keep topping it off if it takes months to lose any. Now the fact that you saw a puddle on the floor seems strange. If you had an actual puddle that could mean a leak some place other than just the weep hole in the water pump. Might want to take a closer look for other leaks.

I would replace it. I replaced mine in the driveway just over 3 years ago. No further issues.

See this thread.

OEM part is only $80 off amazon.
