New to the midwest

Welp, I figured I would post here in the Midwest forum and say hello. I'm going to be moving out to Michigan in about two weeks. I just got a job out there.

I guess it will be sort of cool to be one of the few Tundra's out in the state. I will stand out in the land of american trucks and sedans. I'm also looking forward to winter (well, not really). :p

yup winter can be tough around this part of the country. So far it hasn't been that bad, yet. There are more tundras around than you think:tu:

New to the board

Just wanted to drop in and say "Hey"
Is there any Iowa chapter by chance or is it classified under the "Midwest"?
Thanks and have a Merry Christmas!

Welcome aboard! Like LG said, this is the greatest Toyota site I know of. You can post any regional questions or ask about regional get togethers here. Look around the site and enjoy!

New Midwesterner/Toyota Lover

Just joined and already have found answers to three questions that were too difficult for the dealer service techs. Nice bunch of folks here ('ceptin fer that one rube from sum country bahthenaimuh Taixus that thought he wuz sum kinda "legind") WTG

Not much in to engine mods at all. Nothing against those who are but one of the main reasons I love Toyota is that I get reasonable performance and unrivaled reliability right outta the box. "Don't fix it if it isn't broken" is my motto. (Along with "Don't sweat small petty things and don't pet small sweaty things")

One story to relate. A month after I first started looking for a late model Sequoia I realized that it was going to be a challenge. There just aren't that many out there. I knew that once I found one it was going to be a rewarding experience. I've had it now for a little over a week and man was I right. Found it off a web ad placed by Toyota of Danville, IL (two hour drive). The guys there were very accomodating. I shot them a ball park price over the phone (Carmaxx less a couple Gs) and mentioned that the mileage was a little high for the age and they accepted. IMO, good people to do business with.

Finally, the admins here should seriously consider changing the name. I almost didn't click it but now am really glad I did.

Carry On

Glad you clicked on us too! This site is the Shiznit! Feel free to browse around. Just to let you know, it is well worth the membership fee if you should decide to go that route too! If you have any questions, please search it first and if you can't find it ask in the appropiate forum and I am sure you will get what you need. You already know this but... the group of folks here are great and knowledgable. Welcome aboard!

I think most everyone is suffering from the Winter doldrums:clown: and being holed up for five months. Spring is just around the corner and the hibernates will arouse shortly.

Hi guys.
Just thought I'd drop in and introduce myself. Just call me "Flash". :p
I've been a Toyota owner for about 2+ years but just picked up an '06 4Runner Sport. I'm located in the far west "burbs" of Chicago, Fox Valley area.
Anywho, nice site you have here and hope to see you all around soon.
Regards...:D

Hey Flash, good to meet you.

Maybe you can give me some advice. Friday I'll be traveling from Wisconsin to SW Michigan. I'll be coming down Interstate 90 and anticipate hitting the greater chicago area around 10am Friday morning. What route would you suggest I take for least amount of aggrevation?

Lenny

Hey Lenny! I'd like to tell you the route to take ... but I don't think you like my advice!

Long time no speak! Check out these pics I took while at a Corp of Engineers ORV park in Kansas. PM me if you're not too busy.

Lenny & Borla, I have to apologize to you guys for not responding. I initially posted my "greeting" under "State & Regional Clubs" and I just happened to stumble upon this thread today.

Didn't think the Midwest Forum would be under "polls"?
How about the Admin. move the Midwest Forum to a more accessible area where people are more likely to see it? :tu:

In any case, I'm sure you found out Lenny how lovely it is to try and make your way around the lake at any hour. It just plain sucks!

Not moving anywhere Borla, still plan on staying in the Fox Valley area for a few more years. ;)
Cheers all!
