I have a 2004 SR5 DC Tundra with the 4.7L engine which appears to be running fine.
No DTC's. It has 210K miles.
MPG is about 13-14 city/ 16-17 Highway.
Engine runs smooth and powerful. Motor seems to be in good tune in all aspects.
I guess I should be content but I notice my idle speed with a fully warmed engine & transmission in "D" is 800 RPM. That seems a bit high to me.
Sometimes when I give it a bit of gas, I get too much of a response.
Almost to the extent that the Tundra seems to be lurching.
I only own the Tundra since early December.
From what I've read, the idle speed is controlled by the Tundra's computer so I might not be able to tweak the idle down to say 600 rpm.
What should the idle speed be and is there a way to adjust?
