The plastic cap on the tailgate of my '06 DC, got munched by my 5th wheel the last trip. It left the tailgate pretty much alone, but ruined the cap. What is that plastic piece called, and where do I locate one? Is this a dealer only item?

It's the plastic piece that sits on TOP of the tailgate when it's closed.

Thanks

hi, i honestly thought it came with the bed liner.
it's a tailgate lip protector.
i would think the dealership could get 1, or a salvage yard.
you mean on top of the tailagte when you close it?
good luck,
gorilla

They're called "tailgate caps" or "end caps". Any online parts supplier should have them available.

Here's one that seems to be a stock replacement.

And here's one that seems to offer enhanced protection; might better serve your needs.
