Hi, I have a 2007 5.7l tundra 4x4. I notice that at 45-55 mph I hear a whine only when pressing the accelerator. When I take my foot off it goes away. The truck shifts smooth and has no hesitation... the noise just drives me up a wall. Hoping someone has had a similar problem and solution?

How did the mechanics determine the solution? what parts were replaced?

my mechanic said he couldn’t be sure if it was bushings, ujoint, or control arm because the sound can only be reproduced while driving. We’re waiting for the issue to become much worse to identify the issue.

I ended up taking the truck straight to Toyota. A tech took it out and knew the noise right away. They rear end replacement was the recommended fix and it worked. I believe it was the pinion bearing
