No specific TSB for the Tundra tailgate, but take it in. I doubt they'll give you much grief, as by know they all know it's a problem on the early Gen 2's (to about April of 08 builds +/-). If you do get some slack, ask them politely if you can have an appointment with the regional rep to discuss the issue...the RR's know the deal and will approve the replacement...that's how mine got done, post haste. Didn't even have to meet the rep, he just approved the swap over the phone with the dealership. Once the new gate was received, they took my truck for 2 days to match the paint and I've been good to go ever since, no more separation and it matches perfectly.

Do you have to have the problem to get it replaced or will they do it if your tailgate is still ok?

Thanks for the great info guys, I really appreciate this site and my new tailgate is doin great!!!! I am going to reinforce this one with at least a piece of plywood or something to spread the load prior to loading anything heavier than a dirtbike on it ;)

...and by heavier, i just mean 4 wheelers and maybe a street bike from time to time cause that's all it took to mess it up(and no, nothing that requires driving with the tailgate down). Oh, and the welds on the new one don't look any different, but I'll just treat them with a lilttle extra care and likely never worry about it again!
