Why is my Tundra faster than my Sequoia?

I have a 2006 Tundra Double Cab and a 2002 Sequoia Limited. Both have the iForce 4.7 L V8 but Tundra has a whole lot more pep. It accelerates tremendously faster. In looking online at the vehicle weights, it only seems that the Sequoia is about 300 lbs heavier - could that really be the difference in acceleration ability?

depends, on other things too.. the 300 lbs will make a difference, as well as the tire size.. are they both running the same size tire? check also the drivetrain info like the gear ratio in the rear diff. if the tundra has a higher ratio (which may be true) its going to accel faster. not to mention the difference in wheel weights can make a difference when you are talking 40 lbs worth of rotational mass lost.

240 HP engine in your 02 Sequoia, 271 HP engine in your 2006 Tundra. Plus the weight difference.
