Would like to know if I will encounter any problems changing a bench seat to bucket seats with center consel. I do not have the side air bags and powered seats. The other bucket seats that I will install has side air bags. I looked under the seat of a new vehicle with buckets and they seem to have more wires. I haven't ordered used seats yet, I wanted to make sure I wouldn't have any computer or hookup problems. Thanks

I have the TUndra Access Cab 05 model. I ordered buckets from same year and model and the back bolt patterns didn't match up. Seems like there is an extra wire though too and neither are power seats. The front bolt patters are okay just not the rear. Sucks...I'm not sure what to do now. Iwant them drilled and tapped like the old holes.

I've got an 04 DC with captain chairs and eventually want to switch to a full bench.
I'd be nice if everything bolted right in with no modifications.

I have an 05' Double Cab with a bench and would like to switch for captains chairs. Maybe we can meet up and try it out?? I found some at a junkyard out of an 03 Access Cab and they look like they'd work, but I'm not sure about switching to power from manual?? The dealership is no help!!

Looks like any swap will have to be out of another 05' or 06' to work. The 03' I found in the junkyard... which are the same as the 04' wouldn't work. The other years will probably match up with each other (00'-04'), but the 05's are wider and have a different mounting bracket and connections. Some later 05's came with the yellow wire for the airbags, but mine do not.
I've posted a trade in the classifieds if anyone is interested in my bench (tan/oak). It is nice to fit more people, and my daughter enjoys the front seat, but I prefer the buckets.

Has there been any update on this? I really, really hate the 60/40 sets in my '05 Tundra. I've been considering getting bucket seats but I don't even know where to look.

Do the railings match up between same years? If I get '05 bucket seats...can I just bolt them in on the same railings or is it going to require a lot of work to replace the seats?

rashid6451: I have a 2006 Tundra AC and hated the 60/40 bench as well. I swapped the 60 seat, passenger side, with the 60 side out of a 2004 AC. It fit the mounts like a glove, allows the front occupants access to the back seat, and actually creates a narrow gap between the 60 and the 40 seats which is handy to store files or CDs. I would suspect the layout between the 2005 and 2006 are identical. Don't know anything about a swap to buckets but thought I would pass along my solution.

Wow, sounds like laminatorman has had some luck?? After all the research, I finally gave up, and think it would just be easier to try it with a pre-05' model year.
The dealership said it would'nt work, and that the railings are differen't. The apholstry shops said the 05' seats are wider than the 00'-04' seats. If laminator man can swap in a seat from an 04' to his 05' then that leads me to believe that the 04' bolt pattern is the same. But, what about the seat sensor clips? Do they match up? Also, some 05's and later use the yellow airbag sensor which is not in the 00'-04' model.
I'm tempted to purchase the 03' buckets from the junkyard and see if they'll bolt up. I just need to come up with the time.

I don't know how handy you are with tools but I certainly wouldn't put factory buckets in. I hate my 06 yamaha edition bucket seats for comfort but maybe it's just me. They were comfortable when I test drove the truck around the block but I travel 250km/day on average and I just can't get comfortable in them. If I ever find some time I'm going to ditch my factory buckets for sure. I'm hoping to fit some 98 chev buckets in if they will fit. I drove one of them trucks for a year and loved the comfort (they also have the air lumbar).

blacksmoker, I didn't even know they made a Yamaha edition? Weird, but if you want to give them up, they're comfortable enough for me.

I'm sure given the time and money you could make any seat fit, but I would prefer to have factory matching seats, connectors, and fabric. ONe of the problems with buying a set out of the junkyard is paying to have them re-apholstered not to mention the cost they want just to buy the seats (some are over $1000 each, and as low as $250 lately).

Check out car-parts.com. I think I've had the best luck finding parts with them, but nothing local yet. It would be nice to know if the Seqoia seats fit the same too.
