Does anyone know where I can find the running boards for the 2005 Tundra SR5 Db Cab? Not the tubes... I've been searching this forum and on-line sites for over 3 months and just can't put my finger on them. I've seen lots of tubes but the wife and kids have a problem with them. The boards come from the factory for the 2005 Limited and 2004 SR5 models, however. Toyota don't sell and/or carry them as a part you can purchase. At least that's what I've been told by the dealerships. Why not?

Dealers and Sales people... This is a good question for you all. I'm sure you get asked this question often. I asked my salesman, great guy, but he didn't have the answer either. There's a company out there that makes these for Toyota, who? And why won't Toyota Corp share this information if they won't carry/sale the part? Any information would be appreciated.

Thanks,

ps... I don't know if this thread was posted earlier... If so, forgive the duplicate.

Another option would be the challenger boards. They are sort of a hybrid between running boards and nerf bars. They are cheaper than the running boards and they bolt right up without a problem.

I bought the Challenger Running boards off of ebay for around $270 and have been very pleased. Fast shipping and install took less than an hour. Look for the ebay user Toyogobo on ebay, that is who I bought mine from.

Agreed, and yet another option would be to check out my post here Onki nerf boards hybrids that look like nerf bars but function/protect like running boards!!!...I LOVE THEM...about 1.5" wider than normal running boards too!! better step and more protection from the proverbial door ding!

One more option if you want the OEM running boards. Visit your dealership's auto body shop and see what they can get them for - they must at least be available as replacement parts.

OEM Challenger running boards by Maap

I installed the oem challenger step running boards on my 04 DC in less than hr. They are brushed aluminum, bolted right on using four brackets per side using factory holes & gives you about 4 inches of flat surface unlike the round nerf type. They seemed pretty sturdy. A couple of things I noticed was they could get slippery and the black step parts and end pieces were plastic. Also the undersides were hollow if it matters. A few members here got some good prices from dealers or the auction sites. Good luck with whatever you decide on. :tu:
