I am at 80K miles. I have been looking at replacing my front and rear shocks and don't want to pay for the crazy expensive OEM "electronic" KYB shocks. What functionality will I loose if I just put Bilstein 4600s in the rear with the disconnected electronics for the front and rear shocks? I assume its for auto leveling.

Anyone dealt with this too?

So to clarify my question. I am looking to maintain stock height and just replace the shocks with the Bilstein 4600 to save on cost. Will my dash light up with problems if the rear electronic shocks are disconnected? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I recently swapped out my fronts with Dobinson 1.75 coils and struts. I taped up the electrical connectors and ziptied them out of the way, I have no warning lights at all. I plan on replacing my factory shocks in the rear with Bilstein 5100's and going to do the same with the electrical connectors. You should not get any warning lights in the dash, when my airbags fail I am going to convert it to coils like a limited.

I went ahead and replace the rear electronic shocks with 4600s and tied up and wrapped the wires. Could not disconnect the electrical connector as my hands were too big to even reach in there right and could not get anything on the tab to release the connector. But, Everything works well. The factory shocks were insanely priced, these Bilstein's were about $100 each.
