Don't know about the Tacoma yet but my Sienna has this feature. It was not part of the factory system but was part of the RS3200 alarm system. I had a problem with it at first not doing what it was supposed to however a trip to the dealer and they reprogrammed it for me. Aparently there were several program modes available.

 

I thought it was standard on the '05's? Mine has automatic keyless entry and when disarmed and I don't open the doors, the truck automatically locks after 30 secs.

Oh ok, I'm pretty sure any stereo or alarm place can add that to the keyless entry. . .

 

I think you can only do it with the add-on alarm from Toyota. Mine didn't do that before I had mine installed(for free)

My last Toyota (Celica) did that by default, using the Toyota OEM security system - you could turn that on or off but it was kind of hard to find the procedure - I think I saw it somewhere in the TS knowledge base.

If you have the factory keyless entry option in your '05, you do not have a RS3200. If you would like me to confirm this post or PM me the FCC # from the fob. The factory keyless is a body ecu based system. Vehicles with the factory keyless can be upgraded to a RS3200 Plus system. Programming instructions are available in the Knowledgebase in the thread HOW TO: Programming the RS3200 system

I don't have the RS3200 system, but do have the keyless entry on my 2005 Tacoma. My doors automatically lock when I start the engine & unlock when I turn the engine off.

I wish mine would do that. I have the factory keyless entry. I saw a post once that you have the factory alarm wired in the truck but just have to unplug a wire to make it work. I tried to find the wire but was unsuccessful. If anyone can help out please post it here.

That is not the case on a '05 Tacoma, but would be on vehicles that have the RS3200 system as the ECU to control the keyless entry. The whold procedure is documented in the Knowledgebase.

 

MY 05 D cab use to lock when I started, but it stopped today. How can I make it restart.
