I think if you go into the menu, there is a button to connect manually...check it out...

Also, check out the bluetooth settings on your phone trying to make it a "priority" phone to the truck...good luck!

 

My wife has a 2011 4runner and an iPhone 3G and when her's doesn't connect, she can go on her phone Bluetooth settings and just click connect. The same thing happens on my pioneer radio and iPhone 4. Might be worth trying the phone instead of the radio.

 

Yeah...Maylon is right...you can also manually connect by going to phone BT settings and forcing it to connect...

You shouldn't have to do that thou...if paired correctly, truck BT should automatically connect, each and every time, without fail...

 

having the same prob with my iphone. I bought my 2011 two weeks ago and paired my phone the day I got the truck.

Hopped in today and nothing....
If I find the secret, I'll let you know but for the meantime, looks like I will have to re-pair it.

Also, my wife has the same prob with her phone in our 10 highlander, so its it doubtful that the phones are to blame.

 

I have the Bluetooth option in my truck, 2011 Tundra and have my droid2 paired up to it with the music and phone. Here is my issue, sometimes when I go in the truck and start it up, it cannot find my phone so it does not connect. I have to shut the truck off then turn it back on and it finds it. Is there another way a forcing it to link to my phone when this happens?

I've tried just shutting the radio off and back on and also shut my phone off and back on, but still does not connect.

Probably a Droid issue, but as others have said you can go "Setup, phone setup, select phone" to manually select the phone. The few times I have had to do that, no automatic hookup issues subsequently.

It's worth noting the only times I have to do this is when I have been using the Droid in other vehicles for an extended period, which is why I suspect it's more of a Droid problem. Now if your vehicle is the only one you use the Droid in, my only other suggestion is to ensure the BT on the Droid is actually on.

Overall, very happy here with BT performance using the Droid on Tundra, Venza, and Sienna.

 

It happened to me again yesterday. I started my truck remotely. When I went to get in it, the phone did not connect up. I went under the bluetooth settings, selected the device and hit connect, but nothing connected. I shut the truck off and turned it right back on and it connected.

 

If you have the phone out of range when you remote start the truck, sometimes it won't connect just by bringing the phone "in range"...you would have to manually connect or turn-off and restart the truck with the phone in range...

 

No you don't have to restart your truck just use the bluetooth voice commands of setup, phone setup, and select phone to select your phone. This should sync it when you are out of range when you start it. I've also noticed a problem when you try and sync your phone and you've also got it connected to the usb port.
