Hello, Everyone!
I test drove a 2007 Toyota Sequoia Limited 4WD / 4.7L this afternoon. It had just under 200k on the odometer ($9800 asking price). The body and interior were in quite good condition and my ODB reader didn't point out any glaring issues (the DTCs had been cleared about 600 miles previously). No accidents were reported (at least through Carfax). The A/C worked, but didn't get cool until about five miles down the road and was never what I would call cold. It also had the usual failed rear hatch level that I would have to replace.
My biggest question is the frame. I know that 1st generation Sequoias have frame rust issues, but I'd like expert opinions from the members of this forum. Specifically, there is what looks to be a break in the frame just in front of the rear passenger wheel and there's....something....that looks like it may be the beginnings of rust on the rocker panel in the same area. This might all be dirt, but I didn't have access to a lift to double check. Based on the attached photos, what do you guys think - run to the bank or run away from the vehicle?
Thanks!
Angie
