Did something stupid this morning!

2015 Avalon limited. I was filling up the washer fluid reservoir this morning. Not paying a lot of attention, when I hear plop, plop sound. I looked down and clumps of mold were in the washer fluid bottle and going into the reservoir. DOH!

I used the hose and sprayed down into the reservoir trying to bring them to the top with the over flow or maybe break them up. Nothing came out.

I am afraid to use the washer. Don't want to clog the line and ruin the pump.

Can I put a small amount of bleach in the reservoir without hurting anything and would this do anything? Only thing I know to do is take it somewhere and have them remove the drain and clean the reservoir?

Thanks.

Don't put bleach in it.

Forget about bleach. Remove the reservoir, clean and reinstall is the remedy.

Take off like 2 screws, under the undercover, pull the hose off the washer bottle and let all the fluid drain out. Looking from the underside you should also be able to see the gobs of mold.
Its really easy to access the jug from underneath and not nearly as difficult as you might think.
A Youtube video of any Toyota will be the same basic structure.
If you cant get anything out this way do like Phil said and remove the whole thing and clean it out.
