I haven't seen anybody make a mention of this, but when installing Deaver/Alcan leaf springs, is anybody using angled shims?

I have been sitting on mine for a while now(figurativley) and while being too lazy to install I did the wrong thing and read. :rtfm: I figure for the mild lift I'm aiming for I won't really need any angled shims but might as well check.

Please don't reply about blocks, blocks are angled to eliminate the need for shims. I'm aimed at around 1.25" of lift from a full leaf pack. I don't think the 3 pack comes with shims so I figure I'm safe without them.

yea thats not enough lift I believe. I have 3.5 inches in the rear and I too have shims sitting in my room that I haven't installed. I just dnt feel any vibrations so I cant make myself go pull that center pin out the center of my leaf springs.

When I had my deavers I needed no shims. It really only gives you about an 1.5" of lift with those springs. Same as an add-a-leaf would give you. You should be fine, now go install them, just watch out its heavy lifting!

Exactly Remmy, the pinion angle was my concern. Thanks for the answer guys, I figured it wasn't enough lift to cause any harm but thought I'd check before I go install these. They are pretty heavy to lift but I'll have strength of MADness to power them on. :D
