If you're talking about preserving the pinion angle, then 1.5" of lift isn't sufficient to warrant the use of angled shims. Any more, though, and you'll have to start measuring.

 

yea thats not enough lift I believe. I have 3.5 inches in the rear and I too have shims sitting in my room that I haven't installed. I just dnt feel any vibrations so I cant make myself go pull that center pin out the center of my leaf springs.

 

When I had my deavers I needed no shims. It really only gives you about an 1.5" of lift with those springs. Same as an add-a-leaf would give you. You should be fine, now go install them, just watch out its heavy lifting!

 

Exactly Remmy, the pinion angle was my concern. Thanks for the answer guys, I figured it wasn't enough lift to cause any harm but thought I'd check before I go install these. They are pretty heavy to lift but I'll have strength of MADness to power them on.

 

Came across this while trying to figure out if I need to shim for the pinion angle when I remove my rear block and replace with a 3 pack AAL. Sounds like no shim is needed. Thanks!
