I am having some problems with my Stability Control on my 06 Tundra D-cab. I have a 2.5 lift with some bigger tires, and the system comes on way to fast. I am not even driving crazy and it comes on when I am taking corners. Very annoying, might even be dangerous. Does anyone know how to disable this system? It really got worse once I went to the Camburg upper control arms. Any input would be appreciated.

Any idea where that fuse is? I doubt it's a 25 amp under the steering wheel. I would guess it's under the hood.... Anyone ever pulled that out before? I bet it will throw a check stability control light in the dash.
The only fuses you can try to pull are the ABS fuses. There is not a separate fuse for VSC. Of course this will disable ABS and will trigger all sorts of warning lights. Try at your own risk.

You might try to find the wire that tells the ABS computer that the truck is in 4wd and then feed the correct signle into the computer. When you put the truck into 4wd it turns off the VSC only. If I had the wireing diagrams I would look at it and tel you what wires toplay with but I do'nt so you will have to find it on your own or maybe soemone else can locate them for you. Hope this helps

Jeff, That is a great idea on the wire for the 4wd.... I will look into that!

The stability control system beeps at me and applies brakes to the wheels when I cornering. One time I was going a little fast, but it was nothing serious and I could feel it braking the inside tire when I was going around a sweeping corner... it was not a good feeling at 50mph. Most of the time it will just flip on when I going around a corner at around 25-30 mph. If I just grandmother the truck around, it seems fine. But any type of action and the system takes over.

Do you have the stock upper control arms on your truck? I wonder if it's possible that a sensor was distrupted in the installation on my truck. A friend of mine has an 06 tundra with 5.5 inches of lift and 33 12.50's on 18X10 wheels and does not have any problems. However, he has the stock upper control arms. Not sure.

I installed a 6 inch RCD lift on my 2006 toyota tundra earlier this year and am now running 35 inch tires. Problems with the VSC were immediately noticable after the installation of the lift to the point of losing almost all control of the vehicle while rounding corners (I would get pulled into the opposing lane of traffic). I contacted RCD about this problem and their answer was to take the truck to a toyota dealer and have them recalibrate the system to the difference of tire size. I contacted several dealers and no one was willing to touch my truck siting liability reasons. At that point, I was stuck with a truck I couldn't safely drive. I ended up searching out fuse 61 in my owners manual (diagram pg. 493, description pg. 495). This is in a green block of fuses in my truck. I had to pop out the clear window with a knife and I then cut the fuse with scissors. This caused various warning lights to come on in the dash display including brake warning, ABS, VSC off, VSC trac, etc... This completely disconnected ABS and VSC systems. Without the ABS, in brake tests I performed on dry pavement the back locks up into a skid quite easily, but this is safer than the pull of the VSC while cornering. I was hoping to gain some insight on what sensors turn the VSC off when the 4-wheel drive button is activated. The ultimate goal here is to disconnect VSC only and still have an active ABS system. Cutting this fuse will disconnect everything. What we're both looking for here is the wiring/sensor that will just disconnect VSC (possibly located with the 4-wheel drive activation button). Since rainy season is upon us here in oregon, it is imperative to solve this problem and get my ABS working again. Is there anyone out there who knows or can help direct us to a knowledgable source for this problem?

What I would do. The VSC goes off when the truck is placed in 4wd right. My 05 does. I would find the wire taht singles the computer that the truck in in 4wd and then place the 4wd single most likely a ground to the ABS control unit. If you do this with a switch then you could turn it off or on as you wish.
hope this makes sence and helps

You mind me asking what lift you installed and the size of tires you went with? Just hoping to avoid the same problems. Thanks

HI there,
I'm a little late to the party but just bought an 06 DC limited with a small lift and slightly larger tires than stock. Love this truck but the nannies are driving me crazy (see what I did there? Lol). Like all the posts in this thread, would love to keep ABS. Did anyone solve this? Where would be a good place to find a complete wiring diagram for my truck? Any help is much appreciated.
Cheers
