I have a 2004 4x4 DC tundra with a 2.5" leveling kit with 20's rims. So from all the research I've done I think a 285x55x20(32.34x11.22x20) would be the best tire for my truck the only problem is that there are 2 companies out there that make this size of tire. The BF A/T, and the Pirelli Scopion STR the BF is about $150 more for the set. The truck will be mostly highway with a little bit of offroad. So what do you guys think about these two tires, or is there a size that I have overlooked that would be better.

Thanks

Pirelli Scorpion:tu: Seeing that you are in Edmonton you would need a tire that is pretty good in winter. I have never tried the Pirelli Scorpions but they get very good reviews on Tirerack. I have tried the BFG A/T tires though and you couldn't pay me to use them again, they suck in winter time, especially on ice:mad: the rubber compound gets rock hard in cold weather and they slide like hockey pucks. I would recommend the Bridgestone Revos "great tires" but you might not be able to get them in your size.:)

I’ve had sets of both of these. I can’t compare too much since they were on different vehicles but I’d pick the STR’s for the highway. The STR’s rode smooth and handled great. I have 285/65-18 BFG’s now on my Tundra and they’re a really stiff ride even with low pressures. I’d think 20’s would be even worse. I don’t know what kind of off roading you’ll do but since you chose 20’s I’d bet it’s nothing the STR’s couldn’t handle. :tu:

Pirelli suck, only got 18k out of the set that came on the truck. I'm much happier with the General Grapplers I have on there now (295/45/20)...I'm going to install a leveling kit on my truck soon and go with a 285/55/20 Nitto Dune Grabber...look them up!
