Does anyone have specifics on why consumer reports gave the engine low ratings? Also, do you think the 4.0L V6 is going to be reliable and durable, like most Toyota engines? Most Toyota's engines are great, but you never know when a new engine hits the market whether it's going to be one of those bullet proof designs. :ts:

I'm not sure why consumer reports gave the new 4.0 V6 engine a terrible reliability rating. I have heard rumors here that it had something to do with a problem in the fuel system. More than likely it will turn out to be extremely reliable once Toyota works out these early year production glitches if they already have not done so already. That said, I would probably wait a year or two before purchasing the new '05 Tacoma.

Thanks. I'm sure it will turn out to be an excellent motor. Toyota rarely screws up. However, they are getting so large and the market share is increasing everday you have to wonder when the quantity will over take the quality.
