I have about 40K miles on my SC and developed a low speed rattle. I thought it was the tensioner or idler pulley bearing. After replacing the belt and pressing in some new bearings I found this was in fact not the problem.
The rattle is from the supercharger coupler (*the coupler is in the nose section and connects the SC drive pulley to the rotors, and.....are a very common item to 'slack up' causing a rattle at low RPM).
I called Magnuson:
10:00 (tech support)
I asked if they could sell me the coupler or where could I get it.
"gosh, I dont know I am just the install tech, let me take your number"
[thinking, oh crap, they are blowing me off and wont call)
12:20 (return call from their engineer, out of office and on own time)
"I can not sell you the coupler, that you will need to get from TRD and we are supposed to refer ALL TRD issues to Toyota......BUT, I CAN sell you the 'oil replacement kit' that contains the coupler, new oil and loctite'.....for 30$ 'wink wink'."
I will be doing a SC coupler replacement 'how to' once it gets in.
As someone who buys unreal amounts of race parts from various manufactures I 99% of the time feel like I have to beat any customer service out of someone. Magnuson, to say the least.....surprised the poop out of me today.
