Fuel Pressure

I have a 2005 Tundra with the 4.7 and it has 100,000 miles. It has two DTC's P0172 and P0175. I have tested the O2 sensors and all four are functioning correctly within specs. I don't really think it is one of those anyway since the truck started running rich on the the right and left bank at the same time, so I am looking for something that is common to both, but I'm still checking everything to make sure nothing is missed. There are no mechanical problems, the engine runs fine. I and going to check for a stuck open injector in the morning by pulling the plugs and checking them. I just cleaned the MAF sensor, and I want to check the fuel pressure but I don't know how to do that on this truck. How do I check the fuel pressure and what should it be? Thanks,

I checked the trouble codes and here is a list associated with those codes:

You can find the complete list here:

Scroll down to Other Useful Knowledge and Tundra Trouble Codes.

Injector leak, blockage

  • Mass air flow meter
  • Engine coolant temp. sensor
  • Ignition system
  • Fuel pressure
  • Gas leak in exhaust system
  • Open or short in oxygen sensor (bank 1 sensor 1, 2) circuit
  • Oxygen sensor (bank 1 sensor 1, 2)
  • ECM
The MAF is easy to clean:

I would work down the list and hopefully you get it solved before you get to ECM. Good luck and let us know what you find out.

Turns out the ground for the injectors was corroded pretty badly. I cleaned the ground and the long term fuel trim started climbing back toward 0, it's still around -3 but still climbing. The air/fuel ratio sensors are reading just under 3.3 volts, and the O2 sensors are reading around .6 volts. It also corrected the failure to shift into overdrive problem I was having also. Thanks for your help Highway Lizard.
