Could be the cable, or the pivot pin has dried out and making noise, not sure. You are probably not going to
be able to reach those areas to lube them without taking the console apart. (this is assuming you have the
console mounted shifter - you did not specify) But if it is still under warranty,
take it to the dealer when you have time and let them deal with it.
