I knew that my truck had a transmission oil cooler, but didn't know until I read a brochure the other day that it also has a transmission oil heater - to help warm up the trannie in cold weather. Also, it has a power steering fluid cooler.

The headlights don't however. but if you get out and press the lock button on the key fob twice.. it shuts them off :) really nice to get into the house ...
Not true. I leave mine on all the time. It takes about 30-40 seconds and they will shut off. They will turn off immediately if you hit the lock function on the key fob.

i never let it go that long to see if they shut off.. but i assure you that on mine..the second button press turns them off.. not the first.

maybe that can be reprogrammed, i dont know.. but thats what mine does.

Mine too. 2 clicks, or wait a while and they shut down on thier own.

I just said the lock function, not how many times. All I was trying to point out is if you waited they would go off.

My buddies and I wish I hadn't read this thread. I knew about most of them but the one about starting the truck by just momentarily turning the key and it automatically cranking until starting was pretty cool. I have been doing it for everybody.

The other one that I drive people crazy with, but most know about, is opening the tailgate and just letting it softly go down on its own. The women roll their eyes, and the guys gotta try it themselves and then look to see how it is done.

Dropping the tailgate is one of my favorite things to show off. It tells you who is a truck guy and who isn't - a truck guy will try to catch it and then say "Cool!" after is slowly lowers. A non-truck guy will just look into the bed wondering what you are trying to show them.

hello, the parking lot where i work has the slanted , one way only parking rows.when parked next to a suburban or so i would put my truck in reverse and slowly inch out as i cannot see any thing coming over the van or etc.,and its shift change so there is traffic.well i noticed with the back up camera i can see vehicles coming down the lane, because of the fisheye view, before backing out.......cool

My significant other loves the tailgate feature. We do alot of camping and outdoor stuff, so she can appreciate an easy opening and closing tail gate. It was one of the first things that I showed her at the dealership when we were picking out my truck.

I wanted to try to bring this post back to life. What a great idea!!

I found after complaining since day one about most NAV features being blocked out while driving that there are several voice activated features that work really well. My favorites are:

Go home
Address
Nearest Fast Food
Nearest convenience store

back to life again for the telescopic steering wheel!

mine holds 11 drinks. if i remove the ash tray cup thingie, which i now use for a change holder because i don't smoke.

also did you know that the two big cup holders upfront pop out if you have bucket seating up front(console shifter)

aparently it chimes when you have around a half a gallon of gas left, have not tested yet.

I found out that the sun visors extend too. You know that annoying couple of inches that is never covered when you have the sun visor rotated around to the side window? Well, these puppies slide on the rod so you can fill that void. SWEET
just when i think i know everything about my tundra....

I never let my tank get that low. Old school train of thought I guess....

i mean it does when the light comes on, and when you have a half of a gallon left. like i said just what i heard not what i did.

that being said i go about 2 or 3 days when i get the dreaded fuel light
Wow, I didn't know that. Time to put a gas can in the best and test that idea out. haha.

3. Turning the key to start momentarily and releasing it will cause the crank hold function to keep cranking the engine until it starts. You just bump start and release key. Page 462

I have to read that manual. Yet another thing this know it all did not know...

Thanks

careful of this, cause then you want all cars to do it, and when you try to do it in another car and it does not turn over you usually get worried. but then realize it doesnt live up to the tundra.
