Bench Seat Owners: I just discovered that the compartments that are in the back of the center seat (your armrest when the seat is in the down position) will automatically lock when the seat is in the upright position, preventing rear seat passengers and kiddies from opening them while you are driving down the road.

Didnt' see this so if I missed it sorry. If ur radio is off you can press the FM1, FM2, AM, CD, etc button to turn the radio on. No need to press the power button to turn it on.

I'm new here, but I've been lurking the last few days after buying my 08 SR5 DC 4x4 5.7. I spent the first night in my driveway playing with everything in the truck that I possibly could and found most of the cool "Easter eggs".

One thing that may come in handy is that when you pull off the cover to the "Springfield XD compartment" (sorry, I hate Glocks), then pop out the cup holder bracket, a Smith & Wesson 642 revolver perfectly lays flat under the cup holders. You can pop the cup holder back in place and then put the XD compartment cover back. Hidden handgun!

I also found out that the 5.7 will hold it's own pretty well against a stock 99-04 Mustang GT.:D

I've got a question, over the driver's side door in the ceiling there is a small plastic square. what is that for?

Underneath that square, there is a red button...DO NOT PUSH THAT BUTTON!!!

I have 10K miles on my 10 week old black LTD DC RedRock. I love it. The above features were cool to discover over time. Yes, the service light has come on twice. 5K miles is the setting. Resetting it is a tricky item and I can't recall how I did it after I change the oil at 5K. I learned how on this site so the trick is spelled out somewhere here.

Here you go:

1. Turn the ignition switch to the “IG-ON” position and make sure that the odometer is set to “TRIP A”.
2. Turn the ignition switch to the “ACC” or “LOCK” position.
3. While pushing the “TRIP” meter reset knob, turn the ignition switch to the “IG-ON” position.
4. With the ignition switch in the “IG-ON” position, keep holding the “TRIP” meter reset
knob (for at least 5 seconds) with the LCD counting down as shown in the illustration.
When the reset is complete, the display will show “000000” for 1 second. Then the maintenance light will turn OFF.
5. Release the “TRIP” meter reset knob when the reset is complete.

We have a long, steep hill near our house. The F-250 I sold had a manual shift so putting it in 4th saved the brakes. I was thrilled that the Tundra downshifts to 4th with just a touch of the brakes. I can't quite figure out how it knows that I am about to go down a very long hill and that I don't want to ride the brakes. I was using the "S" mode at first and downshifting manually until I forgot one night and touched the brakes...great feature. It must sense the incline pitch and speed and drops two gears automatically.

Why not touch it? Everyone needs to know where the passenger seat ejection button is located.

Here's a good one...the little cubby in front of the shifter just happens to be a PERFECT place for a Prodigy brake controller. Use a credit card to pry out the entire 3-switch panel and then take the cubby off. Prodigy fits perfectly with two screws installed to keep it from coming out. It is a solid fit and the electric brake control is just a finger away from the shifter. This is the most convenient and clean controller location I have ever seen in any tow vehicle. Thanks to an earlier thread on this site with photos. And to think I almost got a Ford just for the brake command option...

It can spin 35" tires on dry pavement. It did it when I had to jump into traffic. :tu:

I didn't see it mentioned earlier so I am going to put in a little bit of my wisdom. While driving in cold weather I would have the air on hot and just push the recirculate button. After a short amount of time I would notice that the recirculate button was turned off. I kept thinking that the person in the passengers seat was the culprit but I was wrong. It will automatically turn back to "fresh air" after maybe 10-15 minutes. If you press and hold the button for about three (3) seconds, it will stay on until you turn it off. Presto!

Has amazingly effective brakes that don't even misplace items sitting in the passenger seat when applying full-force braking pressure at 70mph. This feature preventing a head-on collision with a buck (white-tail deer) this morning - dark and foggy conditions on the interstate - stopping 2-feet shy of impact.

On another note - holding down the MODE button on the steering wheel (for JBL audio optioned models) will turn off the radio. Depressing the MODE button when the radio is off will turn it on. I only wish there was a simple MUTE function - what I was looking for when I found this feature.
