Mine too!!!!!!!!!!!!! I wonder why? lol

The passenger airbag tuns off when my kid rides and on when my wife rides all by itself
I think there is a scale and sensor under the seat
A weight sensor yes. It prevents the airbag from deploying when there is a small weight (your child, your wife, my briefcase). One of those safety precautions that try to keep small people riding in the front seat safe. One feature I have seen on other vehicles is the ability to manually shut the passenger's side airbag off using the key. Some would say "why in God's name would you want to do that anyways". Well, my mother had brain surgery 8 years ago and doctors still tell us that impact from an airbag could be more fatal than the accident itself.

I found one thing that even I did not know...that the cover for the "glock holder" had a place in the center console. I'm going to put mine there tomorrow! because I like having that space open, but couldn't find a place for the stupid cover!

does anyone know what that random little box by the shifter is for? i think it is to the left of the shifter, and its like just a little square. it doesnt really pop up or do anything...wtf is it?! i have an 08 xsp DC

I learned that on a limited in the message center. If you have a "low washer fluid" warning and then run low on fuel. The message center flashes back and fourth between "low washer fluid" and low fuel"......

if you pop that little square out, there is a thing you can push so the transmission can be taken out of park while the key is off. something you probably will never use......but if your truck gets towed, the person towing it will use it!

You can push and hold down the Reset button and it will clear the message/messages until the next time you start it up.

I've never had to use it on my own vehicles. But it was especially helpful when we needed to move a car with a dead battery in the showroom back a few feet to get another vehicle out. Pop it out, shift the car into "N" and push it a little bit...It can be done with the key in the "off" position or with the key not even in the vehicle at all...hence like you said if the vehicle gets towed...

THANK YOU for letting me know that! Here's another little tidbit I didn't know about the truck! I HATE warning lights (i.e. gas, maint req'd, etc.) but they serve a purpose. It's just aggravating when I'm trying to monitor current MPGs and I can't because it says "Low Fuel Level" or something to that nature. I learn something new every day...My lesson for today has been completed!

I agree! This is a great thread! But...what is that little door by the shifter for? Can't seem to find it mentioned anywhere.
The door is there to hide the shifter override, in other words you can shift it into neutral (or in any other gear for that matter) without the key in the ignition or having your foot on the brake. :thumb:

I'm glad you were able to keep count. I think that dead horse has been beaten more than enough. That one and also the one about the plastic cap over the driver's side on the headliner that is there to keep the headliner from falling...I've seen it talked about, highlighted, circled, squared, arrowed, etc. and it still gets asked about...I guess that only happens to people who read this stuff every night...I might not post a ton like some other people, but I'm always reading!

I don't know why but i really like this one. On my 07 CM Limited at night when you turn your head lights on, two small orange ambient lights turn on to help you navigate buttons on dash and see things in cup holder area.

One is mounted under windshield rear view mirror, and provides a discreet amount of light to help you see buttons and shapes on the dash.
The other is mounted inside the center console facing the the cup holders provides just enough light to see objects in darkness.

Check it out Enjoy!!!!!:thumb:

There is a retangular slot at the bottom middle part of the dash behind the shifter under the tow haul button too short to really store anything whats it for? I call it the cigerette box holder becaus it does that perfectly.

also the so called glock holder compartment I call that the cigerette lighter catcher because mine jumps out of the dash and falls right in there.
but it can be a handy dipping sauce platform ever tryed diping you fries in kechup while driving just lay it on top of that long hatch and it wont slide off.

long time lurker, first time poster...

got a slate 5.7 crewmax about a month ago and already stuck on the sway bar (had too after reading this forum for more than a minute), spray in bedliner, bug deflector and an extang revolution tonneau.

anyways, back to this post: dipping sauce holder? that's perfect!! I might go pick up some mcnuggets or something tonight just to check it out. If it works, it might actually be my favorite thing about the truck. seriously.

also, huge fan the the "glock holder" name. I believe it's actually for storing maps, magazines, mail, etc. drop them in there and they stand up.

The cigarette holder box holds a 24 pack of gum quite well.

the big brother of the cigarette box holder (to the right of the cigarette box holder, in front of the shifter, below the temperature controls) works great for a bi-fold wallet unless it's Costanza thick.
