For all your bench seat owners, I just found out there is another compartment in the middle front that you sit on when you fold the center front seat up. It has a little strap you pull up. Only took me a year to find it! lol :D
Great storage location...... it also has a 12v outlet within it...... that is where my cellphone is plugged in

this is a great thread. I got off work and went to my truck and found out I got a sliding center console, sliding sun-visor, what the little door by the shifter is for, the no noise when the sunroof is cracked and provides a great breeze, and the sun roofs black thing moves down when I go over 40-45mph.
I agree! This is a great thread! But...what is that little door by the shifter for? Can't seem to find it mentioned anywhere.

Page 558 in the manual describes the Tailgate Pressure Warning System. With the key in the ignition and the tailgate down, sensors in the tailgate will detect the pressure of excessive weight and sound the seatbelt chime to prevent tailgate damage.
 Are you serious? If this were true, it would be way cool, but I have on more than one occasion, driven down the road and upon arrival at my destination realized that I forgot to close the tailgate (I KNOW: walk around!) anywho the bed of the truck is full of dust / snow / or I've lost a glove or what have you.

There was another thread about how to wire a switch to the tailgate which tells you something like the left rear door is open DING! so maybe that's an upgrade still to be done.

If you're talking about the 1/2" cover next to the floor shifter, that's a brake release bypass. Normally to shift out of Park, you have to have your foot on the brake pedal. If the shifter fails to move from park with your foot on the brake, you can stick a screwdriver in that slot to defeat the safety.
If you're not talking about that door, I'm not sure.

As for the auto lights off function, I'm guessing everyone knows that this is programmable. Default is delay off in 30 seconds. I set mine to OFF. Now when I leave my lights on and turn the truck off, the lights stay on until I open my door. Then they go off immediately. I like it better that way because I was tired of getting the good sumaritan who felt it their duty to remind me that I left my lights on in the parking lot.
OK, not everyone...how do you program the auto-off lights???

Do you have a Limited? If so, it is within the dash menu settings. If not, you'll have to go to the dealer.

Here's a quick one I just discovered (sorry if this has been mentioned already - didn't see it in a quick scan)...for those of you with CM's and a sunroof, you can open the sunroof by putting the key in the driver's side door, turning to the right, and holding for about 10 seconds. The roof will start to open and stop when you release the key. I use this all the time when getting into a hot car. Rather than getting in, turning to "on", and opening the sunroof, I just turn the key, load my stuff, get in, and go.

About the extra on the Visor. Is this on all SR5's? If so I can't seem to find it on mine.

not an extra just pull on it towards the mirror (un clip it first) and it will slide away from the side window

The wind deflector on the sun roof will raise itself at lower speeds to reduce the annoying wind base noise (yes that is my official tech term) and at higher speeds it lowers itself slightly.

I am driving a 2008 Crew Max Limited.

I felt kinda dumb the other night. I was digging through the center console and found that it has a 12v outlet inside. Only took me about 7 months to find that. I open and close that thing all the time.

I think I found a new one for the 5.7L with the 6 speed...

You can trick/force the transmission into up-shifting to the next highest gear before it's normal shift schedule. I figured this out while towing this past weekend to help keep the truck in 5th and 6th. I tried it yesterday while not towing in all modes (Tow/Haul, S mode, VSC off, etc) and it worked in every one.

What you do is, when it feels like the transmission could up-shift but isn't...

You give the throttle just a short "blip" (it doesn't take much)
Then immediately remove your foot
The RPMs should jump up another 100-200
Within a second the transmission will up-shift
Then you put your foot back on lightly to keep your speed constant.

The whole process takes 2 to 3 seconds and keeps you in a higher gear more of the time...big difference while towing for MPG, I saw 1.5 mpg better on the same 150 mile route with 5000#s hooked up.

Takes some practice to get it right and to learn when the computer will allow it, but worth while as far as I'm concerned.

I found an additional sun visor on my limited. When you move the normal sun visor to the side window, there is another sun visor underneath that one so that when you turn back in to the sun, you have a visor and don't have to keep moving the visor if you are on a winding turn at sunrise or sunset. Cool!

Very cool. never would of guessed that. It closes it too if you turn the key the other way. :tu:

Buckets seats, The lid release alows the lid to move forward. You have to retrack it to open the lid. I stumbled on that last week.:tu:
Great thread. It convinced me to finally join the forums after lurking for the past month or so.

I noticed today that the center console lid will close in the extended position.

The Blue Streak DCs attract HOT chicks :)

The glovebox has a little shock obsorber on it like the tailgate
also behind the glovebox is the cabin air filter mine was as filthy as a vacuum cleaner bag with leaves and dirt in it

Im going outside now to see if my visors extend
